"The FS-1010 ... is a force to be reckoned with. Speed is no doubt aided by the beefy 200MHz processor and 16MB of RAM." |
"Quality
from the 600x600dpi setting is superb, and you can engage the 1200dpi
setting for a boost of refinement. Features are plentiful too ..."
"Quality
was almost unrivalled. Fades, halftones , reverse text and diagonal
lines were all printer effortlessly, while photos and graphs were a cut
above the rest. The tough Excel test was easily readable too."
"On
top of these highlights, the FS-1010 is environmentally friendly and
costs just 0.7p per page to run. Plus the drum unit is guaranteed for
three years ... Couple this with quiet printing and a competitive price
and Kyocera Mita has a winner on its hands."

"Kyocera
Mita has been banging the ecological drum since Sting was knee-high to
a South American grasshopper. But if you buy a Kyocera Mita printer,
you don’t just get a warm feeling inside, you also buy low running
costs for the duration of its life."
"Another environmental bonus is the 5W sleep mode, reducing both your electricity bill and energy wastage."
"...this
is a quick printer anyway. It didn’t matter how complex the pages we
sent to it, the FS-1010 knocked them out at a rock-steady 13.8ppm
(pages per minute) just a fraction below its stated 14ppm speed. This
is where the 200MHZ processor and 16MB of RAM come into their own:
lesser specified printers, such as the Lexmark E320, with its 4MB of
memory, cope easily with plain text, but complex layouts can cause
delays and failures."
"Kyocera
Mita has got the driver right too - where some mono lasers can’t tell
the difference between yellow and dark grey, leaving highlighted cells
in Excel spreadsheets unreadable, the FS-1010 was faultless."
"in a small office this printer comes up trumps in all the key areas" |

"As
a follow-up to Kyocera's FS-1010, which has been on our A list ever
since its launch, the FS-1020D adds extra speed and features, as well
as another £45 to the price tag. But for this, you'll not only get 20
ppm, but also duplexing as standard and print quality that's hard to
fault." |
"Our
50 page plain text document appeared in two minutes 41 seconds. which
matched the quoted speed of 20 ppm. The 50 page colour letter caused no
complications either and came out at the same speed. Quality was up to
par too, with solid, defined characters, strong line graphics and good
mono translation of colour elements."
"Running
the excel workbook didn't stop the FS-1020D in its tracks either.
Whereas complicated spreadsheets often slow things down, all 12 pages
appeared in just 45 seconds that equates to 22.5ppm, and quality was
again impressive."

"The
FS-1020D is quick and can print double-sided with its built-in
duplexer. It's expandable with extra paper trays and came top in our
blind print quality assessment. And then you take into account its
running costs" |
"Kyocera
has long banged on about the low cost of ownership of its printers,
thanks to its lifetime drum, which never needs replacement. Page cost
and total cost of ownership figures support this, with the lowest TCO
figure in the group by over 20 per cent. It's not usual to have such a
clear-cut winner, but in this case the FS-1020D we've got just that."

"The
economical performance and print quality make this model worth
considering, especially if you will be putting it to frequent use
running costs are the lowest in this [review]. The toner cartridge is
good for 7,200 pages and, since a replacement costs only £50, you can
expect to be paying 0.7p per page. This makes it three times cheaper to
run than the Lexmark, so you'll quickly recoup the difference in
initial outlay."
"In terms of
performance, the Kyocera is more like a network printer. Print quality
is also good text is crisp, shading is well defined and the detail in
graphics is captured clearly at all resolutions."
